Robert Krause, MSN APRN-BC
Robert Krause graduated from the Yale University School of Nursing, specializing in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing with an additional concentration in Healthcare Ethics. He received his BA from WCSU in philosophy. Studied at the graduate level at The New School University in New York City. He also studied Lacanian psychoanalysis with Stuart Schniederman, Ph.D. in New York City.
Professionally Robert has been in practice for ten years, has worked with patient's in hospital, clinic, and private outpatient settings. For the past three years he has maintained a private practice where he sees and treats patients of all psychiatric conditions and life situations. Additionally, Robert is lecturer at the Yale School of Nursing where he teaches and co-ordinates the psychiatric clinical experience for first year graduate students in nursing. He also taught philosophy at Quinnipiac University and at WCSU.
Robert has been practicing zazen mediation for fifteen years and yoga for eight years and has recently obtained certification as a yoge instructor at Aum Yoga and Holistic Health in Anjuna, India. He practices yoga regularly at Balanced Yoga in New Haven.
Services Provided:
Psychotherapy: Individual, couples, group, and family therapy using approaches that are appropriate to the presenting context including psychodynamic, narrative therapy, relational, cognitive behavioral skills, existential and integral approaches.
Group therapy: With a focus on helping participants develop skills and strategies to help decrease stress and anxiety and increase concentration and an overall sense of well-being using basic yoga, stress reduction techniques and meditation.
Psychopharmacotherapy: Licensed to prescribe medication in the State of Connecticut, Robert uses pharmacology as a means of address patient issues.
