Dr. Kaitlyn N. Staal, ND is known warmly as “Dr. Kat” or “Dr. K” by many of her clients. She received her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine with highest honors of Summa Cum Laude from the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine and completed her Masters in Acupuncture at the same institution, and is a lifetime Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society member.
Dr. Kaitlyn N. Staal is passionate about Biochemistry, Neurobiology/Neuroplasticity, Psychology, Nutrition, Oncology, Craniosacral Therapy, Acupuncture and Qigong. She has observed that science-based healing and energy or spirit-based healing are equally profound and valid methods of rediscovering health. In fact, she believes that science simply does not yet have the tools to measure and objectively quantify these more energetic manipulations of the body. In this light, Dr. K does not see a disconnect between science and spirit-based medicine; rather, she views them as being on the same spectrum of human health and healing. Therefore, she focuses on both the physical and mental-emotional aspects of her patients, and believes that one without the other is an incomplete picture of a patient’s total wellbeing. She experiences time and time again that as such, we cannot make significant, lasting, and bounding health improvements without acknowledging both the body and the mind.
As she begins her career as a Naturopathic physician, Dr. Kat is specializing in Integrative Oncology under the expertise and training of Dr. Jody E. Noe, a Naturopathic physician, Master Herbalist and Integrative Oncology specialist. Dr. Noe has grown a successful Integrative private practice and has been working with cancer patients for over twenty years. She recently published a research-based textbook, entitled Naturopathic Medicine and Integrative Oncology.
On her free time, Dr. K loves doing independent research, indoor and outdoor gardening, and snuggling with her two big pups at home. She loves to read, to dance, to play volleyball, and is a true ‘foodie,’ in her own kitchen and out on the town.
She believes that life is about balance, loving and caring for one another, & spiritual and moral growth and development.
“I believe that no physical ailment is purely of physical origin; a strong spirit manifests a strong body. Likewise, an imbalanced spirit manifests these imbalances physically if long enough ignored. We must pay attention to what the body and mind are saying to find the answers for optimal health.”
